Stock Up Saturday (2)

Are you looking for something to read during the many hours you are forced to endure college football? Or perhaps a little something to read while enjoying the nice weather outside? (I do apologize for taunting those of you who still have what I like to call Texas Heat aka 90+ degrees when it's already officially Fall.) I love a good deal and I bet you do to.

Here's what I found for you this week, free Kindle reads and some of your favorite authors at a discounted price. I recommend the seductively sexy paranormal ones courtesy of the wonderful people at Pocket Books. It's that time of year: sexy vampires and things that go bump in the night. Why not treat yourself to something a little early? Or stock up for the night of trick-or-treaters, something to pass the time until another little costumed child comes along and rings the doorbell?

Lords, scoundrels, highlanders, shifters, vampires, men in uniform, angels. There's something there for everyone. A few Gena Showalter books, an illustrated romance, the Lear sisters, a Black Cobra Quartet book by Stephanie Laurens, Bones and Cat, and my favorite: Delilah Marvelle's School of Gallantry books (if you want a scorcher, those are your books. Don't read while walking on the treadmill at the gym, people might think you're crazy because of the little gasping noises and funny "O" faces you'll be making. Trust me on that one.)

HAPPY READING!!!!

Five Friday Favorites

Ok. I wasn't able to get this done last night since Blogger decided to go through some changes. So here it is.

My Five Friday Favorites:

This guy. I haven't met him (yet) but he is absolutely gorgeous. He is the model on the cover of The Rake and the Recluse by Jenn LeBlance. (Oh, I know I sound like a total broken record regarding this book but come on! This concept is GENIUS!)
Dear Jenn,
Please have DH come back as Perry. After all, Rox and Perry are almost mirror-like in appearance. Your words, not mine.
Love,
Kati
The League of Extraordinary Pimp and the Pervy Trinity. This came up during a Twitter convo with Jamie from For the Love of Romance and Rita of Not Another Romance Blog. It is not safe to talk about on this blog. Or perhaps it's one of those "you had to have been there moments." And Rita is going to make buttons for our blogs after she's done with finals and such. So for now, I give you this since the images will be Too Hot to Handle:

Doctor Who. Finally watched watching Series 5 since Netflix decided it was time to stream it. I may or may not have spent some time hiding behind my fingers and peeking through them. For real. Those Weeping Angels scared the crap out of me the first time in Series 3 and they still scare me now. I can't wait to watch Series 6. Apparently they'll begin their journey traipsing through America. Too bad I don't have BBC America.

Henry Hugh. Yes, I named my Kindle with the help of Jamie. No joke. I take this thing everywhere with me. I just put it in my purse and go. It's so great when I'm sitting at Starbucks or having lunch and being able to read. It's just awesome to be able to choose what you want to read when you're on the go. You don't have to load your bag up with a couple of books in case you change your mind. I've got 378 items on there including books, apps and audible books. Most of them are free downloads. I mean, can you say no to some of them? Didn't think so.

Taylor Swift's You Belong with Me. Cause I'm that girl. The one with the glasses and reads books.

So, what are you loving this week? Any new books, movies, places to hang, youtube videos?

Kindle Love

I love, love, love my Richard Henry. And by Richard Henry I mean my Kindle. Yes, that's how much I love it, I named it. Now, why do I love it so much... Let me count the ways!

I love the instant gratification of being able to download the book right then and there. There is no need to go and get dressed and drive to the book store. I can sit right in my living room in my pajamas and buy a book.

The sample button is my friend! Every time I see a book that sounds interesting but I've never read the author I can just have a sample sent. It's like author speed dating. I get a couple chapters to see if I like the author's tone and if I don't then I haven't wasted my money because its FREE!

I tend to travel a lot. and I must always have something to read cause I've been known to get stuck in airports (like the time I was stuck in Syracuse for 8 hours) and books can get heavy. But my Richard Henry is very light and carries hundreds of books so I always have something to read. And if I don't like what I'm reading I can always find something else thanks to the Kindle Store!

Another great thing, the pricing. A lot of the E-books are priced lower then the paperback version and sometimes are on sale for really cheap or FREE! This is another way to try out a new to you author and I have found some gems thanks to this!

I have the Kindle app on my iPhone which is amazing! When I'm out running errands I usually don't have Richard Henry on me but I always have my phone which means I can read anywhere. It makes things interesting when I'm at a family function and I'm reading a sexy book while trying not to blush.

Don't get me wrong, I love paperbacks and I will always buy them especially for certain authors. But, Richard Henry has definitely made my life a bit easier. Do any of you have a Kindle or and E-book reader? Do you love it or is just OK?

Now, next week I'm working on a post about those free E-books I mentioned. So tell me, if it's free do you download it? Do you start reading them knowing that they are maybe not up to par with other E-books?
