Five Friday Favorites

Ok. I wasn't able to get this done last night since Blogger decided to go through some changes. So here it is.

My Five Friday Favorites:

This guy. I haven't met him (yet) but he is absolutely gorgeous. He is the model on the cover of The Rake and the Recluse by Jenn LeBlance. (Oh, I know I sound like a total broken record regarding this book but come on! This concept is GENIUS!)
Dear Jenn,
Please have DH come back as Perry. After all, Rox and Perry are almost mirror-like in appearance. Your words, not mine.
Love,
Kati
The League of Extraordinary Pimp and the Pervy Trinity. This came up during a Twitter convo with Jamie from For the Love of Romance and Rita of Not Another Romance Blog. It is not safe to talk about on this blog. Or perhaps it's one of those "you had to have been there moments." And Rita is going to make buttons for our blogs after she's done with finals and such. So for now, I give you this since the images will be Too Hot to Handle:

Doctor Who. Finally watched watching Series 5 since Netflix decided it was time to stream it. I may or may not have spent some time hiding behind my fingers and peeking through them. For real. Those Weeping Angels scared the crap out of me the first time in Series 3 and they still scare me now. I can't wait to watch Series 6. Apparently they'll begin their journey traipsing through America. Too bad I don't have BBC America.

Henry Hugh. Yes, I named my Kindle with the help of Jamie. No joke. I take this thing everywhere with me. I just put it in my purse and go. It's so great when I'm sitting at Starbucks or having lunch and being able to read. It's just awesome to be able to choose what you want to read when you're on the go. You don't have to load your bag up with a couple of books in case you change your mind. I've got 378 items on there including books, apps and audible books. Most of them are free downloads. I mean, can you say no to some of them? Didn't think so.

Taylor Swift's You Belong with Me. Cause I'm that girl. The one with the glasses and reads books.

So, what are you loving this week? Any new books, movies, places to hang, youtube videos?

Five Friday Favorites

It's Friday, Friday, gonna get down on Friday. This week has been kind of slow. There's not much I'm loving this week. Henry Cavill got himself engaged to a horse girl (I will never call her by her given name), it keeps getting foggy in the afternoon (this began after reading Kieran Kramer's Cloudy with A Chance of Marriage), and I got sunburned. And, a seagull (once again) stole my sandwich. But enough whining. Here's my favorites for the week.

This girl. Yes, this is Jamie from For the Love of Romance. She sent a most wonderful package of unputdownable books. I told her on Twitter that I've never read any books by Julia Quinn or Lisa Kleypas (I'll wait while you finish gasping.) So she was kind enough to put together a package and send it my way. 5 books. RICHARD HENRY HUGH PUREJOY nekkid DANCE PARTY! Thanks Jamie!

Julia Quinn. Where have you been for the past 10 years of my romance book reading life. Why have I not discovered the Bridgerton family? I giggled my way through The Duke and I. And cannot wait to add the rest of the Bridgerton books to my ever growing, never shrinking TBR pile. Seriously, it's been a week of Simon's for this girl. First Simon from Sarah MacLean's Eleven Scandals to Start to Win A Duke's Heart and now Simon from The Duke and I.

Navy SEALs. Yes, they are the men of the week. They finally got The Big Bad who has been hiding for 10 years. Way to go guys!

The Rake and the Recluse by Jenn LeBlanc. This book is just amazing. What a concept! Interspersed within this book are color and black and white pictures to go along with the story. This is not your child's bedtime illustrated storybook. The pictures are ab-tastically awesome and just gorgeous. Confession: as of now, I've been drooling over the pictures and have only read the first 2 chapters of this book. But I will soldier on and read the story. It's quite fascinating. A bit of time travel. A bit of a love story. And a gorgeous Duke (pictures included).

Speak Now by Taylor Swift. Because I wish I could do this at a certain person's wedding. Seriously, we are soulmates and he knows in the very depths of his soul that we are meant to be. He just hasn't found me yet.  Perhaps we were even together in a past lifetime. (preferably in Regency England)

So what are you loving this week? A new book? A new hang out? A new movie? A new imaginary boyfriend? Share.

13 Things I'm Loving Today

Today is a HUGE release day. So many books, not enough time in the day to read them all. I did however, take a peek the ones that had been pre-ordered and arrived a little after midnight last night. Yes,  I was up until 1. I read the first sentence of each and almost cried. I wanted to read them all at the same time.

So here is what I'm loving today:

1. Sarah MacLean's 11 Scandals to Start to Win A Duke's Heart- The cover is flippin' pink! And it's my favorite color. Oh yeah, and I finally get some answers regarding the stuck up Duke of Leighton, Simon Pearson. And because I love her book trailer.

2. Kris Kennedy's Defiant- Confession: I have not read a book by Kris Kennedy. I just heart the cover. Like a lot. I want to lick it, stroke it and grate cheese on the man's abs. Oh yes, and this:
"At first, it appeared they both wanted the same cock."
That there is the first sentence of the book. Now tell me that you're not the least bit curious. What's that? Yeah, I thought so. Go forth and buy this book with it's lickable cover.

3. Kieran Kramer's Cloudy with A Chance of Marriage- Because this book isn't about meatballs and food raining down from the sky. It's a love story (which neither character knows yet). And she owns a bookshop! And his name is Stephen. I've always wanted to fall in love with a Stephen. (shh...don't tell Mr. Kati)

4. Henry Cavill's O face. That is all.

5. . Because I just wanted to put a shirtless, tied up Richard Armitage.
6. Mary Jo Putney's book trailer for Nowhere Near Respectable- It features real, live people MOVING! And if this were a movie, I'd be the first in line to see it.

7. Tom Welling's birthday- Yeah it's today. And he's still gorgeous. Just another excuse for me to post a picture of another good looking man.

8. Vampires- I've been on a Lara Adrian kick with her Midnight Breed series. I really like her take on the vampire mythos. They're born, not made. And speaking of, Laurie London's Bonded by Blood is going to be my next vampire book. I'm halfway through book 8 of the Midnight Breed series and then I've got 2 months to wait until the 9th one comes out.

9. My mailman- He has been bringing me some awesome books and swag. Rain OR Shine. (I can't post a pic because that would be borderline creepy, me asking him to take a pic to post on my blog. I'm sure he'd really be okay with that.)

10. Taylor Swift and Permanent Marker- This would have been my middle school anthem if Taylor was singing then. (Only 4 years too late)

11, 12, & 13. Thor, Captain America: First Avenger and Green Lantern movie trailers- Look at the movie posters. LOOK AT THEM! Need I say more? Hemsworth, Reynolds and Evans (w/a side of Armitage). *sigh*

So, what are you loving today? Did you buy any or all of the new books released today? Are you going to see any of these superhero movies? Read any good book series that I should check out? (no Jamie, I've already got BDB on the list)
