So I've been busy lately and have neglected you all dreadfully. For this I apologize... with Henry Cavill.
See ladies, he's sorry too. Forgive me?
So, August has been crazy. I went to RomCon in Denver and it was awesome. There are not enough exclamation points to tell you how excited I was to be going. I'm going to do a full RomCon recap but I will tell you it involved riding crops, handcuffs, red rope and tying a certain hot model up with said rope, kilts, margaritas and so much more. Oh, and if you missed the last episode of Romance Lately you can see our recap of RomCon. I'm the one wearing the mask.
August is also my birthday month. Of course I need to wait to the very last day of August to celebrate but that's fine because I'm not ready to age another year. But I am ready for presents, I'm always ready for presents. I also like giving presents and that's why I'm having a special Birthday Giveaway... more on that later this week!
I've also been planning new things for For The Love Of Romance. I'm going to start putting up my reviews. I have a lot to put up from my reviewing over at The Season (ps The Season is having a big giveaway for their 2nd Anniversary. Lots of book and a chance to win your choice of e-reader.) So along with my Season reviews I'm going to start doing some here.
Now that I have rambled a bit I'm going to tell you what my plan to take over the world is. Well, not the world but you know what I mean. I want For The Love Of Romance to be a place where we all can get together and talk about romance. You are the reason I wanted to start a blog. So, to take over my little area of the blogasphere I'm having a follower giveaway.
Yes, I am bribing you all to come listen to me ramble. What's in it for you? Well, let me tell you:
1. Jenn LeBlanc's illustrated romance novel The Rake and The Recluse (an e-copy) once I reach 40 followers.
2. A $10 gift card to Amazon.com once I reach 50 followers
3. An e-book of your choosing (up to $7.99) when ever I reach 60, 70, 80 and 90 followers.
4. The Grandprize! When I reach 100 follower one lucky person is going to receive a $25 gift card to Amazon.com, 2 of my favorite books of this year, and 2 books of your choosing. And when I saw books, I mean actual books unless you prefer the e-books.
Now, what kind of hoops am I going to make you jump through? Well... none. All I ask is that you follow using the Google Friend Connect. Once I reach the next milestone I'll put up a post and all you have to do is fill out the form with your name, address and email. Simple, yes?
I'm not against bribing either so I give you Richard Armiatge. And It's his birthday! See we were meant to be, same birthday month!
So there you have it. My plan to take over the world, one follower at a time.
As I try to make For The Love of Romance a fun place, what do you want to see on the blog?

Happy Birthday Richard!
How appropriate that Richard Armitage's birthday falls on Man Candy Monday. He is after all, one of the original man candy monday men (say that a couple hundred times real fast). So in celebration of Richard's birthday, I give you:
Happy Birthday Richard!!!

Man Candy Monday
I love Mondays. Want to know why? I'll tell you. Every Monday is Man Candy Monday on Twitter. What's that? Well, it's where we come together and share our love for half dressed to almost naked men by using the hashtag #ManCandyMonday. When does this all go down? 8pm CST. Usually there's a theme but once the pictures start flowing... you never know what's going to pop up (so to speak). When viewing said pictures, make sure you're an arms length from you keyboard. You know, in case of droolage. Don't want you to electrocute yourself.
So today's theme is: Men in Uniform. *sigh*
And yes, the gorgeous Richard Armitage is a man in uniform. Although, he DOES look way better in black leather. You know, when he was Guy of Gisbourne on Robin Hood? Wait, he was a man in uniform too. He was sort of the Sheriff of Nottingham's Deputy. So there! He was also in uniform then. And he'll be in Captain America: First Avenger. Don't know if he'll be a military man or something.
You haven't even read anything past the picture have you? It's all good.
Sooo.... who's your favorite man candy in uniform? Sharing is caring!

A little bit of this and that
It's Wednesday, hump day, the middle of the week. I don't know about you but here in Jersey it has been miserable! It's been raining for about 4 days and has just zapped my energy. But you know what the best thing about it... I spent a couple mornings watching North and South with the wonderful and sexy Richard Armitage.

That man can scowl at me all he wants! If you haven't seen I suggest you do. Mr Thornton is totally swoon worthy!
Also, there was some big news announced yesterday. I am a HUGE fan of JR Ward's and her Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I've been hooked since Book 1, Dark Lover and cried like a baby in Book 3, Lover Awakened. Now, after 9 books, my man Tohr is next! JR Ward announced Tohr was next at her book signing in April and yesterday she gave us his title: Lover Reborn. I'm not going to give away any spoilers (cause I hate that) but I am SOOO excited and if you're a fan of the series you know what the title means. All I'm saying is that Ward better give Tohr one hell of an HEA! So, I will now be freaking out for the next year waiting for Lover Reborn since it won't be released until late April or early May.

Also, for the past week I've been reading Jenn LeBlanc's The Rake and The Recluse. Yes, I said the past week and no I'm not done yet. Why? Because I keep getting distracted by the fabulous pictures! I would highly recommend this book to all historical romance lovers and don't forget, Romancing Rakes is giving away 2 copies of the E-book and Jenn LeBlanc also threw in some swag! So head over to enter!

To me, the BDB is my crack and Ward is my dealer! Is there a book that you are just DYING for? I'm also waiting for Lorraine Heath's Waking Up With The Duke which comes out June 28.

Man Candy Monday
Good Monday morning to you! It's that time of the week again, Man Candy Monday. Join us this evening at 8PM CDT (6 , 7 and 9 PM for all you others-including me) on Twitter. Share photos, video clips, and stories on Twitter. Be sure to use the hashtag #ManCandyMonday.
So in the spirit of MCM, I give you:
I make passes at hotties in sweaters and glasses...
Yes, in honor of Ana Farrish's post for the Man Candy Monday blog (all about professor man candy), I give you Mr. Henry Cavill and Mr. Richard Armitage in glasses and sweaters. When I think of professors or TA's I always picture them as thus. If only my TA's or professors looked like them or looked super sexy in glasses, I would've paid more attention in class. No, really. I would have.
P.S. The hottie in the middle is DH. He is the VERY good looking guy on the cover of Jenn LeBlanc's The Rake and the Recluse. Yes, I am pimping out her book. Right here. It is a must buy! Buy it as an EPUB, Kindle edition, trade paperback or limited edition print. (please note: the Kindle and EPUB editions have a lot more pictures than the printed ones) Plus, DH looks great almost nekkid. Heck, just buy the book for the pictures. You won't regret it! I mean, come on! Look at the awesome gif on my sidebar.
So, what about you? Did you have any professors or TA's that looked like either of these men? Or do you have a favorite professor man candy?

Six Degrees Sundays
![]() |
(source) |
Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon is a trivia game based on the concept of the small world phenomenon and rests on the assumption that any individual can be linked through his or her film roles to actor Kevin Bacon within six steps. The name of the game is a play on the "six degrees of separation" concept. (source)Happy Sunday everyone! It's another edition of Six Degrees Sundays. Last weeks challenge was: Can you find 6 degrees between Richard Armitage and Henry Cavill? Start with Richard. And here are the answers (I found 6 ways)
