Meet Tawny:

Kati: Who is Tawny during the holidays? (author, gift giver, last minute shopper, baker)
Tawny: Somehow or another, Tawny always ends up on a deadline during the holidays. So this year I’ll be the frantic writer juggling page counts with cookie baking, decorating and fun projects.

K: What is your favorite thing about the holidays?
T: Family and the sense of tradition and continuity the holidays bring. And, of course, presents. I do love giving presents.

K: Do you write more or less during the holidays?
T: I write about the same or more during the holidays.

K: What is your latest holiday themed book about?
T: SEX, LIES AND MISTLETOE is a coming home story, with both the hero and heroine returning to the town they grew up in. Pandora is trying to save her mother’s business, and Caleb’s trying to save his father’s neck. The holiday’s add a special twist to these family get-togethers.

K: Which of your heroes would you go on a sleigh ride with? (with permission from the heroine of course)
T: Hmm, this is a tough one. I want to say Caleb, because he’s just so sexy and has honed his smartaleck mouth to a fine edge. But I think I’d have to pick his younger brother, Gabriel (SEX, LIES & VALENTINES) because while he’s just as gorgeous and sexy as his brother, he’s got an extra helping of charm to with it.

K: Which authors (dear or alive) would you have at your holiday feast?
T: Nora Roberts is my absolute favorite author and I think she’d be amazing ot have to the holiday feast because her love of family and tradition shines through her writing.

K: Real tree or fake tree?
T: We’ve had to do fake because of my daughters’ allergies. And the cats are less inclined to try and live inside the fake tree. (LOL)

K: Specific gifts or gift cards?
T: Specific gifts—handmade if possible—whenever I can. I do resort to gift cards for my teenage nephews and my brother who has everything (and stores anything I make him in the corner of his garage).

K: Fruit cake or gingerbread?

T: Gingerbread, all the way!! I love gingerbread, whether it’s cake, cookie, house or man.

K: Just enough decorations or “every tree lighted, blow up snowglobe, snow man in the yard” decorations?
T: Isn’t every tree lit, snowglobe glittering, santa blow up in the yard ‘just enough’? I do love to decorate, but try not to go too crazy. We put lights outside, but that’s usually about it. Inside we have our tree glitzed out, with garland and lights on the bannister and smaller trees in the other rooms of the house. Bits and pieces here and there add to the holiday fun, don’t they? (Yes they do)

K: Home for the holidays or visiting relatives?
T: Home as often as possible, although we’ve spent many a’holiday on the road or out of state. But the holidays just don’t feel the same if we’re away from home.

K: Gifts under the tree throughout the month or Santa delivering all on Christmas Eve?
T: I love the look of gifts under the tree, so they go under as soon as they are wrapped. Santa brings his own on Christmas Eve.

K: Author’s choice.
T: Do you open your gifts on Christmas Eve, or Christmas morning?
